movement building
At CAP International, movement building is a cornerstone of our mission to end prostitution and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
With 37 member organisations across 29 countries, we actively work to connect and strengthen the global network of grassroots and survivor-led abolitionist associations. Our aim is to create a supportive, collaborative, and effective international movement.
We bridge connections between the International Secretariat, members, and wider partners, ensuring that the realities and needs of our members at the grassroots level shape our advocacy efforts and vice versa. We facilitate the exchange of expertise, resources, and good practices among members through both virtual and face-to-face engagements, within the scope of World Congresses, abolitionist weeks, and regional workshops. These opportunities help build a dynamic network where members can share experiences, enhance their capabilities, and strategise together.
Our approach is tailored to be culturally sensitive and responsive, focusing on understanding the local contexts and challenges our members face. We provide tailored support, training, and tools for our members, ensuring they have the resources needed to advocate effectively and offer robust support to persons in prostitution. This holistic community-building effort enables our members to drive impactful change, mobilise effectively, and build long-lasting solidarity within the movement.
