our organisation
The Coalition for the Abolition of Prostitution (CAP International)
CAP International is a coalition of grassroots and survivor-led organisations united by a shared goal: the abolition of the prostitution system. To date, the coalition comprises 37 organisations across 29 countries.
CAP International empowers its members to support victims of prostitution effectively. We also advocate for the adoption of national legislation and international standards based on five core principles:
Decriminalisation of all persons in prostitution
Protection, support services, and exit options for persons in prostitution
Prohibition of the purchase of sexual acts
Prohibition of all forms of pimping
Prevention strategies on the non-commodification of women and girls and on the realities of the prostitution system

CAP Members
The 37 members of CAP International are the driving force of our coalition, operating in 29 countries worldwide. Our members work with, or are founded by, survivors of prostitution. They provide direct support to victims of prostitution and sexual exploitation and/or advocate for the implementation of abolitionist legislation in their respective country.
Together with the expertise of the International Secretariat, CAP members define the strategy and priorities of CAP International. They make up the General Assembly, which votes on the budget, strategic priorities, and elects the Board every two years.
CAP International Board
The Board is CAP International’s main decision-making body, composed of representatives from member organisations.
